Lutsenko hopes for Ukraine-EU agreement
A thin and pale but smiling Yuriy Lutsenko spoke to journalists outside the entrance of his Pechersk neighborhood house in Kyiv, accompanied by his wife and son after being released from prison earlier in the day.

Yuriy Lutsenko and his wife, Iryna, as they are about to enter their home in Kyiv's Pechersk neighborhood on April 7. President Viktor Yanukovych pardoned Lutsenko midway into his four-year term. Lutsenko had been convicted of abuse of office while serving as interior minister, a charge widely condemned in the West as political persecution for his alliance with imprisoned ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
